OWN Gets Rachael Ray and Nate Berkus

OWN Gets Rachael Ray and Nate Berkus, OWN Gets Rachael Ray and Nate Berkus, Oprah Winfrey is staying inside her stable of talent with her young network’s latest acquisitions. The Oprah Winfrey Network announced Tuesday that it has acquired exclusive cable rights to

Rachael Ray and the now-canceled Nate Berkus Show — both of which Winfrey had a hand in creating and come from her Harpo Studios banner.

Rachael Ray, which staged its successful launch in 2006, comes to the network from CBS Television Distribution and will air back-to-back on at 9 a.m. weekdays, starting Sept. 10. The hourlong culinary-focused talk show is among the more successful to ever come out of the Oprah personality pool and now airs in more than 30 countries across the globe.

Nate Berkus, the most recent Oprah-approved lifestyles personality to get his own series, premieres the same day as Rachael Ray, airing two episodes a day starting at 11 a.m. The hourlong series actually was canceled last year, with production ending in May and broadcast repeats finishing up this week. Only 200 episodes were made.

“Rachael and Nate are a natural fit for OWN’s expanding daytime programming lineup,” said OWN president Erik Logan of the four-hour block. “It will be great to have Rachael’s energy and Nate’s upbeat presence on our air.”
